The Community Players Of New Hamburg

Twice a year I help out my local community theatre company with pictures and for this years fall show The Community Players put on a brilliant production of Noises Off. Past shows have included 12 Angry Men and Dial M for Murder.

They really went all out this year o the production side, creating a massive rotating stage to show both the front and back of the ‘theatre’ in the play. And the second act, which had almost no spoken lines, was a brilliantly choreographed series of gags, slamming doors and prat falls.

In spring 2019 The Community Players are pleased to announce they will be performing Hunchback of Notre Dame!

Toronto Professional Headshots

Did some new headshots for Laura in Toronto... to tell a family secret, Laura is the first bride who ever hired me to photograph her wedding.  She's the one responsible for all this!

And no, you can't see the pictures.  :)

Ontario Theatre Photography

Every spring I spend some time working with my home town's community theatre group documenting their production and this year was no different as The Community Players of New Hamburg put on an amazing production of the classic Mary Poppins.

When most people think of community theatre they think of small little productions in church basements but let me assure that isn't the case here.  They convert and entire arena into a professional stage complete with lighting, sound, tiered seating and a full live orchestra.   And to make things even more interesting this year of course Mary Poppins had to fly!

Dial M for Murder

I've done a lot of work for The Community Players over the years, most recently for their production of the classic Dial M for Murder.

This was a promotion shot that we did off stage featuring the key moment in the play.

As usual The Community Players did an amazing job, you can review the review in The Independent. 

Their next show will be Nunsense on stage this May!

Springtime around here only means one thing... the annual show by The Community Players of New Hamburg.

Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof... this year it's Ragtime!"

The Community Players are one of Canada's premier community theatre groups... someone I know saw Fiddler on the Roof last year at both the Community Players and the professional production at Stratford and much preferred the Players version!

It's always an interesting process to photograph the show from the beginning to the full dress rehearsals.

Dunfield Theatre   |  Run for Your Wife

Had the opportunity to do some promotional work for the Drayton Entertainment Group and their production of Run for your Wife at the new Dunfield Theatre in Cambrdige!

The play is really funny and well done (you can see a review and my picture in the The Record) you can get tickets here!

Healthaholics Headshots

Veronica is a past bride of mine who contacted me for some environmental shots to be used for Healthoholics, a Kitchener holistic health & nutrition store that she runs with her family.  The have everything from vitamins, supplements, orgainic foods and all natural products for cleaning, beauty and even maternity and baby supplies!  Of course, there's also a full clinic in the store which offers everything from nutritional planning to massage therapy. 

We actually started the shoot around the corner from my house, borrowing a beautifully remodelled kitchen of one of Veronica's classmates.   From there, we headed off to the Healthaholics store in Kitchener and then to Dutchies fresh Market for some photographs in the produce aisle... so nice of them to let us use the store!

Look for some of these pictures to be on Kitchener Transit buses in the near future!

Phoenix Children's Hospital

Back in 2012 I attended the Foundation Conference in Phoenix with a bunch of amazing wedding photographers and friends.  While we were there one of the local guys, Corey Schwartz, was working on a project for the Phoenix Children's Hospital to create a documentary 'day in the life' photo book that they would use to help promote the the hospital and raise funds.

I was happy to donate my time spending the day photographing patients and staff, especially since my wife is a nurse at our own Sick Kids hospital in Toronto,

This week my copy of the book arrived and I was happy to see my images in print and being used for such a great cause.

Was contact by Emerson Climate Technologies for some head shots of their sales & Marketing team to help boost their online and social media presence. 

They wanted a more environmental feel to the photographs instead of a standard backdrop so we used their client training centre as well as their boardroom for the session.
