12 Angry Men | Theatre Photography

The Community Players of New Hamburg

I was happy to be asked to help out with The Community Players of New Hamburg's production of 12 Angry Men.  This one was a little special since it was the first time they've decided to run a second show in the fall.

12 Angry Men is one of my all time favourite movies so I had to remind myself that I was there to take pictures instead of watching (Wife and I get to do that on Friday night!)

I had already done some promotional head shots for the production, which you can see here, so now it was time to focus on getting photographs of the actual production.

Here are some of my favourites!

Collingwood Wedding Photographer

Breanna + Tania

Tania + Breanna had a wonderful, intimate fall wedding up in Collingwood.

It was my first same sex wedding, and I was a little nervous going in but after about 2 minutes I had forgotten that there was anything different about this wedding... it was just two people in love getting married.  The way it should be.

We braved cold mountain tops and windy beaches to get some great pics before their ceremony at the Tremont Cafe in Collingwood.  It was great to see the joy and excitement on everyone's faces as they were announced as a a married couple.

The reception, and amazing dinner, was also at the Tremont with their closest friends and family.

Check out the full slideshow from their wedding below!

Toronto Wedding Photography | Fermenting Cellar

Carlie + Brian

I photographed another great wedding with my good friend Aron Goss of Calculated Style.

Carlie + Brian's wedding was amazing right from the start.  The guys were absolutely hilarious getting ready and hanging out at the church before the ceremony.  Speaking of the church, I had never photographed at Knox Church on the University of Toronto grounds  before... amazing light in that place.  Easily on my top 5 list of Toronto churches to get married in.

Then it was off to the Distillery District for some wedding portraits and then the Fermenting Cellar for their reception.  Fermenting Cellar is one of the best venues in Toronto... it looks great, the service is a amazing and your photographer can go get a beer after the reception at the Mill St Pub.  :)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if I want the digital files?

While I realize that 99% of the other photographers are willing to just burn a DVD and walk away I’ve decided that your wedding images are too important to spend eternity sitting in a desk drawer. So everyone gets a beautiful custom album and a set of low resolution images for sharing online.  If you really, really, really want the full resolution files they’re available to purchase.

How would you  describe your style?

I would describe myself as a wedding photojournalist with a strong sense of composition. My ultimate goal at each wedding is to provide you with a set of edited images that tell the complete story of your wedding day for future generations to enjoy.

Do  you  take  any  posed  pictures?

Absolutely.  I love family and think the family pictures are some of the most important pictures of the day.  Of course, we'll also get some cool pictures of you guys and your wedding party.

Do you  photoshop all your  images?

My style lends itself to images that have very clean colours and tones. The only time I use photoshop is for minor retouching of portraits.

Are you  available  for travel?

Absolutely!  I live in a small town but spend most of the time photographing weddings in Toronto and the rest of Ontario.  I’m also available for travel Canada wide (at an additional cost).

Is  full day coverage  really the  entire day?

Yes.  I usually start with the bride’s hair & makeup and finish at the end of the reception.

What  if  you're  sick?

I’ve been photographing weddings for 8 years and I’ve yet to miss a wedding.  Having said that, life happens and I think it’s best to be prepared.  If I can’t be there to photograph your wedding, I have a network of other photographers who I can call to take my place.

How long until we see our wedding images?

Everything will be finished in approximately 4 weeks after your wedding.... but you never know, a few pictures from your wedding might sneak up on the blog before then.  :)

Do you photograph weddings by yourself?

I normally photograph wedding by myself (and have shot almost 200 this way!) but of course a second photographer is always an option if you want.

“Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

We are so pleased with the photos. You did an amazing job, and captured some very special moments throughout the day of not only us, but our guests!

Other than with my family I’ve only shared the video with a few people so far, but already you’ve gained more fans out of our friends.

You have a very special way of photographs so warm and welcoming. So much wedding photography these days seems cold and distant; but I know, whether people were at our wedding or not, everyone who sees these pictures will be able to feel the love, joy, and laughter that filled our day.  prepare for the sap……..I can’t fully express my gratitude, but know that you have given us a gift that we will treasure always.”

“…And honestly, its us that need to thank you. You were incredible to work with (and I hear you saved the day with the guys and their tuxes/boutonnieres), you made an already (thankfully) stress free day more enjoyable with your presence. I often hear feedback from other couples stating that they felt as if they were being pulled left right and center from their photographer and never got to enjoy the day. However, you really go unseen – my mom even said she barely saw you all day! And you were really more like having a good friend hang around with us. “

"Dear Scott,

Thank you so much for capturing many special moments on our wedding day. Anyone can take a good picture, but your photography is art. Each picture takes us back in time and truly captures the emotion and essence of our day. You have a special gift and talent! Thank you for sharing it with us.”
