Toronto Restaurant Wedding

Stephanie + Mike

I love smaller, intimate weddings and Stephanie + Mike's downtown Toronto wedding was no exception!

I started off the day with Mike and his best man at what has to be the coolest barber shop in Toronto.  It's called The Crows Nest and is in Kensington Market.

After Mike's trim, I headed over to the Royal York where Stephanie was getting ready in a beautiful suite with her family.  Stephanie's make up was by Rachel Chivers and her hair was by Salon SR.

Once Stephanie was looking amazing in her dress by David's BridalOscar de la Renta shoes and flowers by Dandie Andie, (Okay, Mike looked pretty good in his suit from The Bay's West End Shop too) it was time for a first look in the hotel suite with just the two of them and their son!

Osgoode Hall is a hidden little gem of a park in downtown Toronto that's a great spot for some family pictures... best of all, no permit required!

After all piling into taxis we headed over to Le Select Bistro where the ceremony and reception were held and I had one of the best steaks of my life!

A very good year!

Look, no one is more surprised than me that my Best of 2014 slideshow is done in January instead of my usual early may but here it is and I hope you enjoy it!  :)

It was a great year, full of amazing clients and fantastic weddings.  I got to photographer weddings at some of my favourite wedding venues in Toronto and around Ontario including:

I also got to photograph some smaller, intimate weddings at restaurants, bars and cottages which I always love.

And of course I also got to work with some other amazing photographers like Aron Goss, Ben Benvie, Sam Wong, Kate Hood, Fer Juaristi, Tim Forbes and Fran Chilico

Langdon Hall Wedding Album

Here's the wedding album design from Sharlene + Greg's beautiful, intimate Langdon Hall wedding in Cambridge from this past summer.

A lot of times I get inquiries for smaller weddings that think they only need an hour or two of coverage... I always ask 'why'?  To me it really makes no difference on how small (or large) the wedding is, I still photograph it the same way.  I think this album design is a great example of that, there were only 9 people total... including the bride and groom!  But it really didn't change anything... I still photographed the getting ready, the ceremony, some nice portraits on the grounds of Langdon Hall and then a beautiful dinner with speeches and even a dance or two.

Waterloo Engagement Photography

Jennifer + Ian

Had a great fall engagement session in Waterloo with Jennifer + Ian who are getting married next year at the Tannery Event Centre in Kitchener.

We started off with some craft beer at one of their favourite pubs and then wandered around downtown a little chasing the good light.  I never really plan too much for these sessions, I like to just go for a walk and see where it takes us!

After that, we headed up to the University of Waterloo since Ian is a professor there and they wanted to take advantage of the beautiful campus.

Muskoka Wedding

Sasha + James

Such a fantastic wedding up at The Rosseau Muskoka by JW Marriott with Sasha and James!

James was the best man from Phil + Stephanie's wedding last year.  I've shot 3 weddings for Phil's family so this day was full of friendly faces and past clients!

The rain held off and we were able to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake.

One of the coolest parts of the day was the lawn games they set up to entertain the guests in between the ceremony and reception.

We took some time to head down to the waterfront for some great pictures of Sasha + James and their wedding party on the docks.... Sasha even helped a stranded paddle boater in her wedding dress!

The dinner and reception was an awesome night in the Russeau Ballroom.  The night ended with smores in the fire pit.

A huge thanks to Toronto wedding photographer Sam Wong for making the trip up to the Muskokas and helping out with second shooting.
